Sequence Evaluation

Andrea Arnold's Fish Tank scoops up the audience and areas them into Mia's world, which is packed to the brim with unable to start relationships with family, social groups, her mother's sweetheart, and neighbors. It also directs a message towards the audience that portrays the ways in which these types of broken interactions develop and continue to happen again and again, the cycle continuing with every single passing technology. Fish Tank also portrays Mia's personal problems that cover her aspire to feel respected and appreciated, her enthusiasm for hip-hop dance, however the lack of appreciation she gets, as well as the social class the girl grew up for the reason that led to Mia's destructive habit and the lack of opportunity that she has. Hazel Arnold portrays these ideas through her use of camera placement, contact lens choice, movie script, mise en scГЁne, and diegetic audio. The landscape that I decided to analyze may be the progression by which Connor takes Mia and her friends and family to a riv in the countryside and displays Mia tips on how to catch a fish with a technique called noodling, to the position where Connor carries Mia on his back as they leave (0: 32-0: 37).

In this section of the film, the camera mimics Mia's movements. For example when Mia is going for walks towards the river, the camera work is usually shaky, and handheld. This somewhat simple method of filming helps viewers feel like they can be walking with Mia within the slippery bumpy ground. Eventually, once Mia reaches the river and her sibling Tyler remarks the dragonfly, we are offered a shallow focus shot. This is not obviously Mia's standpoint and because of this, the audience is inclined to find out it because theirs. As a result they think of themselves to be right along with Mia, searching through the reeds, treading throughout the mud and into the riv.
