We am seriously not that brave, I actually am definitely not that good, and I are not carrying out anything magnificent. I are just doing what Our god called myself to do being a follower of Him. Nourish His sheep, do unto the least of His persons. " These types of words from Katie Davis speak volumes of prints of this youthful woman's cardiovascular for those of Uganda. In Dec of 2006, 18 year-old Katie Davis from Brentwood, Tennessee, visited Uganda over a missions trip she performed when the lady was on her school's winter break. The girl was right away captivated with the people and the tradition. Completely affected and changed, she decided to go to Uganda and adhere to her heart and passion pertaining to the Lord.

Despite the criticism Davis received from actually her family in Nashville, TN, your woman followed her calling. Your woman decided not to head to college also to pursue ministry full-time in addition to the summer of 2007, Katie returned to Uganda to show Kindergarten at an orphanage. While she strolled the children residence, she was shocked to find the sheer number of school-aged children sitting idly on the side in the road or perhaps working in the fields. Your woman learned there have been very few government-run public universities in Uganda, and none in the region where the lady was operating. Most schools in Uganda happen to be privately work and therefore require school fees for presence, making impoverished children not able to afford an education.

The almighty laid this on Katie's hear to start out a child support program, corresponding orphaned and vulnerable kids who are unable to afford training with benefactors anywhere in the world. Sponsors pay 300 dollar per year to deliver one child to school, rendering school materials, 3 popular meals daily, spiritual discipleship, medical care. Originally planning to include 40 children in the system, Katie had signed up a hundred and fifty by January 2008. Today the program sponsors over four hundred children.
