Through the entire mid seventeenth century and into the eighteenth century, Significant European powers started to distributed their empire and build groupe throughout the world. The african continent was a country controlled largely by imperialistic powers at this point. Though mother countries colonized in different ways, and reigned over the colonies differently, a single fact continued to be the same; many colonized countries did not desire to be under the influence of the Europeans. This kind of became a major problem after World War II, which many Africans fought in. The African people noticed their colonizers fight for the liberty of Poland. This acquired them thinking of their own rights and freedoms. Two of these types of African countries that desired independence had been Ghana and Algeria. These countries experienced very different decolonization eras. Bekwai, ghana had a incredibly peaceful decolonization because of their strong leader, strategic nonviolent offenses, and their mom countries' view of their goal. Algeria on the other hand had a very bloody decolonization because of their mom countries' long term plan for these people, their lack of leadership, and lack of preparing.

Ghana's struggle for Independence started in the 1920s with the start of nationalist oppression to the British. While time continued the oppression grew more powerful but obtained much energy when the authorities started firing a group of past service guys from World War II who went to Accra to petition to the governor to get aid. This event caused much distress for the Ghanaian people and they noticed that they had to get rid of the British government. Many influential nationalists then signed up with together to create The Combined Gold Coastline Convention, and then in 1947 they asked Kwame Nkrumah to lead the party and organize a revolt against the British. Nkrumah became an extremely influential in leading the county. He was a very good innovator and realized how to get the British governments attention.
